Loading size and amount are hard to control on a large sheet, and the loading piece tears free as you pull it. That is where most misfires start.
The size becomes fixed, but storing the small pieces and pulling one out mid-demo is fiddly. A 20 × 25 cm sheet also cuts down to only about 12 usable pieces.
