This is a real flame, not an LED imitation candle. One wave of your hand and the candle lights itself. It burns lamp oil — a real flame candle in the plain sense: it leans in a draught, it gives off heat, and it looks like fire because it is fire.
Wave a hand from across the room and the candle lights at once; wave again and the flame goes out in an instant. You can even raise or lower the flame from where you stand — an adjustable flame candle you never have to touch. Commanding fire from a distance is a dream most of us have had; with no lighter and no match, this candle that lights itself makes it real.

Link up to ten candles and light all ten together, one by one from 1 to 10, or from the centre outward. Each candle has built-in numbering that you can set any way you like.

The 50 ml reservoir burns for about eight hours at full flame and refills with the syringe supplied. It runs on paraffin lamp oil from any supermarket — in the US, Walmart stocks it — so there is no proprietary cartridge to buy.
Three AAA batteries come already fitted; pull the insulating tab and it is ready. One set gives about seventy lightings.
No complicated set-up: when it arrives, fill it with oil, switch it on and it is ready. To light several candles in sequence or from the centre outward, give each one a number first.
